📍Leshan, China Gaint buddha, A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built over 1,200 years ago, by a monk named Hai Tong who saw boats crashing at the meeting of three rivers due to strong currents. To protect the people, he began carving a giant Buddha into the cliff. He didn’t live to finish it, but his students and generations after him completed the statue nearly 90 years later.
