The Giant Ground Sloth, specifically Megatherium, lived in Brazil during the Pleistocene epoch, around 2.6 million to 11,700 years ago. This massive herbivore could reach lengths of up to 20 feet and weigh as much as 4 tons. Unlike today's tree-dwelling sloths, Megatherium roamed the ground, using its large claws to pull down branches and strip foliage.
